Week 5: Blame It on the Byes

It was an exciting week! Aaron Rodgers surpassed 60,000 passing yards this weekend, A won in a thrilling 144-135 victory, and N lost by 23! To N's defense, five of his players sat on the bench for their bye week. This brings our overall records to 2-2 for A and 1-3 for N.

A - This was my most exciting week yet! It came down to the last game of the week: Saints vs. Chiefs. My cousin was sitting at 135 with no players left to play. I was at 125 with only the Chiefs defense left. Lo and behold, the Chiefs went above and beyond, scoring me 19 points and securing me the dub. My highest-scoring player was Lamar Jackson with 41 points. I am so impressed by him (and also by me for drafting him). Brian Thomas Jr. also performed well in the Jaguar's first win of the season. I have been a little disappointed by Bijan Robinson thus far. Despite being the second pick of the draft, he has yet to awe me as he continues to score an average amount of points each week. I am hoping the Falcons start to increase their running game so I can increase my scores a bit.

N - This week was... expected. My 5 byes came back to haunt me, and I got blown out by my cousin. I never had a chance, with his Ja'Marr Chase going for 42. My backups did a solid job, with 18 from Zay Flowers and 18 from Rico Dowdle, who was projected only 8. After a little rest, my team is ready to get out and running again, and recover from this slow start.

A - I am playing my grandpa next week, who just so happens to be in first place overall. Featuring Jayden Daniels and Brandon Aiyuk, his team is very promising. My best chance is for Lamar to have another 40-point game. I am also looking to pick up the Texans defense because the Chiefs have a bye, and I am hoping the Patriots (the Texans' opponents) play like their typical lower-than-average selves. On another note, it is looking like the Eagles are getting some of their injured players back in play, so maybe their season will start to turn around! Their bye came at a great time (and hopefully gave Jalen Hurts some time to improve).

N - I'm playing my 1-3 uncle, who is usually one of the best in the family every year. His team is led by Garrett Wilson and Kyler Murray, with a solid running back duo of Josh Jacobs and Jordan Mason. I am projected to win by 6, but that doesn't mean much seeing that I've been projected to win most weeks this year. My team, all rested, is prepared to come back from 1-4 and make a push for the playoffs.

Main takeaways: A now has a better record than N, N is in last place in the family, and A might finally be getting the hang of Fantasy! Come back next week for a hopefully similar story!
